Wondering if you guys have heard anything about this. Basically the deal is you download this bit of software which in some way connects to your DJ software (or other music player) and tweets everything that you play.

I have to confess I dunno that much about the in's and out's of it I'm simply passing on the info as to me it seems an avenue worth exploring!

Think it's only available in Mac at present as well.

Anyway, have a look. Discuss.
Good idea? Bad idea? What about DJ's using it live?

Twitter DJ is the latest brainwave from Richie Hawtin, who's already spent much of his career pioneering new technologies as a DJ, producer and label owner, from the development of Midi enabled DJ mixers such as Allen & Heath's Xone92 & 3D mixers, to Final Scratch DJ technology. The Minus developed application utilizes feeds from an updated version of Traktor's standard broadcasting technology to send 60 second updates during Hawtin's set of what's currently playing to a designated Twitter account. Anyone following the Twitter group can obtain a unique insight into how a DJ builds the atmosphere and dynamics of a set, track by track, all in real time.

The application is now available for use by everyone. Download from www.twitter-dj.com

Personally I like it.

Someone in a club here's a song they like, they drag out their iPhone and open their twitter app... they have an on the spot list of what the DJ is playing! Nice.
