Looking at going digital to start up a mobile dj business so need hefty catalogue of tunage. Looking at serato but then seen final scratch cheap as chips on ebay...whats the difference in it all???Looks the same kind of thing to me altough peeps are mad for serato...so hit me up...what is the difference...they both time code mp3s to vinyl and you can scratch/juggle on both...am i right??

Serato serato serato. Final scratch was the original tool but from reviews of it I hear it has latency problems so if you try to scratch with it there is a real noticable delay. Plus they are no longer making any updates for it. Serato I have found to be amazing from day one. No latency problems at all even with the fastest scratches. The serato forum is also great. Any problem you have and an official serato admin answers and sorts it out within a few hours. They also have a new features suggestion board and they've included loads of new things that peeps have asked for. All the software updates they release are completely free too. Other cool features are that you can tag your mp3s to display the bpm and serato can sort them in order. you can set visual cue points on mp3s to find different parts of tunes. It will also timestretch in realtime so you can lock the pitch and then speed up or slow down on your pitch control and it plays it faster or slower without changing the pitch. You can also set up crates so you can store certain tracks all togethere. handy when doing a mixtape. Everyone I know who has gone digital uses serato.
