When I was living in Toronto (12 years ago...), my best mate's older brother brought home all this old electronic "junk" that someone had thrown out on the curb. I couldn't tell you what was what (and even now I doubt I could if I had it all to look at again), but there was a working oscilloscope, a synthesiser, and various other circuit boards and plates with all knobs on them. There was also a Roland piece of some sort (I only remember cos Roland was just about the only name I recognised out of it all!!).

Somehow my mate's bro got some / all of it going together - a real patch work job to say the least as most of it was, well, junk destined for the bin after all. It never would have led to any chart-blowing singles, but with our 1 deck (no pitch control), some old records, this pile of crap, and a heap of weed, we pulled off some amusing sounds...... and even taped them. I'm sure it sounded hopelessly rotten, but it was fun and the oscilloscope was a stoner's dream to look at......

Anyway, I suppose that would have been my earliest foray into the world of music production, although it pretty much ended there as well.

High school, third grade, I got my hands on Fruity Loops 3 by accident and started to do some beats n stuff for fun, mostly hip-hop beats for some local groups...
and now I'm still using only software (reason, FL8, ableton) and all sorts of plug-ins...

I got involved in Producing nearly ten years ago, when I heard about a game called Music Creation on the PS1, I bought it tried it out, caught the production bug and have never looked back.

Today, I use a basic M-audio MIDI keyboard, my PC and have Pro Tools LE, Ableton 6 and Reason 3 ( which I don't use much anymore) as my software.
